State SUD Plan: 2026-2030
In this session, we’ll discuss Oregon’s plan to address substance use and SUD across the state. The Oregon Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission (ADPC) has developed a set of high-level goals for its next 5-year plan. These goals span the SUD continuum of care: prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery. The plan will carefully consider the needs of youth. The ADPC would like your feedback: What will it take to implement this plan in your community? What challenges do you foresee? What resources will you need to overcome those challenges?
Your feedback will help the ADPC develop strategies to implement this important plan!

Keynote Speaker
El Huehuetlatolli
We are all part of a sacred lineage that has embedded in us the sacred teachings, the sacred medicine and the sacred practices that can guide, heal and allow us to fulfill our sacred purpose: El Huehuetlatolli. We also carry the responsibility of looking in the Smoking Mirror and healing and transforming the generational wounds, La Locura, that has burdened our people for hundreds of years and that still lives in us today. Pero, La Cultura Cura!
This presentation will guide us to re-member the sacred ways that are in our DNA and challenge all of us to journey through the 4 stage process of Healing for our ancestors, for ourselves, for our familias, our communities and all our relations and for the seven generations that are to come.

Self-care- Affirmation of Our Identity and the Intersectionality of Identities
Using popular education methodology, which recognizes and affirms the knowledge of each participant, we will explore how to approach self-care personally and within the community, examining the risk factors affecting the Latina/o/e community and other individuals with intersecting identities. The goal is to foster mutual support among colleagues and to better serve clients in substance use and addiction treatment. We will discuss risk factors, how to recognize them, and how to offer genuine, compassionate support to colleagues and clients in the Latina/o/e community working in behavioral health. Unity and mutual support make all the difference!

Reconciliation Through Self-Care: Healing Ourselves, Healing Our Communities
In our busy lives and constantly changing global environment, prioritizing self-care can feel like just another task on our to-do list. Dr. Valeria Manning will explore the core principles of self-care, focusing on sleep, nutrition, movement, and self-awareness, highlighting how simple, daily practices can help us prevent chronic illness. Drawing from modern science and cultural wisdom, she will discuss how investing in our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being not only improves our health but also plants seeds for the well-being of future generations, fostering reconciliation and healing within our communities.

Understanding family ties and conflicts between the first and second generation of migrants.
People who migrate face many challenges throughout their lives, both in their personal identities and family life. Between parents who migrate to a new country and their children who are born in that country, gaps in connection often emerge, affecting the nuclear family’s communication and bonds. This can lead to frustration, sadness, and anger, making it difficult to understand what each family member is experiencing. In our workshop and presentation, we will aim to help participants understand these challenges and offer effective communication tools that can be used to strengthen bonds of love and family well-being.

The Triangle of Power and the Eight Dimensions of Wellness: Practical Tools for the Community
We will explore how integrating the Triangle of Power (values, beliefs, and attitudes) with the eight dimensions of wellness can transform individuals' lives and strengthen community organizations. Through practical examples, ethical dilemmas, and applicable strategies, participants will learn how to use these concepts to enhance personal, team, and organizational well-being.

Jorge Partida - PsyD
Reconciliation with our wounds and mistakes in order to accept the responsibility of self-care
We will explore the formation of automatic patterns of thought and behavior that lead to the adoption of self-destructive habits, which often occur on a subconscious level and block our ability to accept self-help. Central to this is the concept of worthiness. We will discuss how the subconscious convinces that we must be punished for the mistakes of the past.

María Lucero Sánchez Navarrete, Traditional Healer
You are Your Healer
We’ll introduce traditional health techniques that serve as tools for promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. The central purpose is to recognize the natural elements that are part of both the planet and physical body. We will express gratitude for life by recognizing the strength of the Earth's directions, embracing harmony and peace in being alive.
Session Highlight
Introduction to Data Justice
In this session, we will explore REALD (Race, Ethnicity, Language and Disability) and SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity), which are sets of standardized questions that help us better understand who is most impacted by health inequities and how we can best support community members to access the services and resources they need. We will discuss the need for data practices that promote equity and empower communities. We will breakout into small groups to discuss best practices with the REALD & SOGI questions in the context of behavioral health settings. Lastly, we will have an opportunity for discussion.
